Mums are so difficult to buy for. My brother and I used to buy my mum all sorts of stuff that she'd pretend to like, but as I got older, I got better at buying gifts for her. Maybe it's just female intuition. I don't know. Whatever, here's a selection of everymum presents to suit all pockets (and Mums).
By Malene Birgir Cotton Linen Belted Cardigan, £215, at
Flannels
Perfect cardigan for S/S 11. Light and modest.
'Seringa' (Eau de Parfum £70, Eau de Toilette from £38) at
Floris
There's nothing more luxurious than Floris perfume. My personal favourite is 'Cefiro', but Seringa is a much more mature scent, balanced out by lily and carnation.
Okay, I know this SEEMS expensive (and it is, I am no fool), but La Prairie is AMAZING. You get what you pay for. If you're worried about your mum being offended by this gift, quickly add in: 'IT IS THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING'. She'll thank you when she's all Death Becomes Her and forever young and stuff.
Can you see what they've done? An egg holder in the shape of a chicken (eggs come from chickens) made from CHICKEN WIRE! It's brilliant, cute and massively unnecessary. Buy it. It's eco-friendly, too.
La Tropezienne leather tote bag by Clare Vivier, £214.46, at
Bodie and Fou
Your mum will love this, I am not even kidding. I'd love it. In fact, I am more than a little in love with it. Such a perfect receptacle for all of my rubbish.
Anorak Kissing Rabbits gardening apron, £17.50 at
Anorak
Ultra cute and practical too. Anorak have loads of perfect gifts, so even if this doesn't do it for you, there'll be something else knocking about that will.
Get these to go with the apron. This will
a) Make your present a two-parter (everyone loves a double whammy gift)
and
b) appropriate
This list is not exhaustive! Can also be used for Mothering Sunday.
